Black Mountain

Trail Network

Rich in mountain biking history, Black Mountain is once again a hub for outdoor adventure. In partnership with West Fraser, the Government of Alberta, and Clearwater Trails Initiative, NORCA is proud to oversee the Black Mountain Trail Network, located just 10 kilometres from Nordegg. Opened in the Summer of 2024, this professionally built network welcomes mountain bikers, hikers, joggers, and walkers to explore its IMBA-standard trails.

Designed to inspire riders of all abilities, Black Mountain offers a mix of green & blue adaptive-width flow trails, technical black routes, a two-way green/blue climbing trail to the summit, a thrilling jumpline, and more. As of Spring 2025, 19 kilometres of trail are ready to ride, with exciting new additions planned for the season ahead. A public-access shuttle road is scheduled for Summer 2026, making the network even more accessible.

Plan your trip with the latest trail maps and updates at norcabikes.com. The staging area has a parking lot, pit toilets, and nearby Provincial camping, while Nordegg’s charming accommodations & amenities ensure a comfortable base for your Black Mountain adventure.
