MARKETS IN NORDEGG

Nordegg presents three special annual markets that celebrate community spirit and local artisans. The June Spring Fling inaugurates the season with local crafts. Over the September Long Weekend, the Mountains & Mines Market forms part of Nordegg Days, showcasing makers, artisanal wares, a Show & Shine, and live entertainment. Each November, the NCA Christmas Market fills the Community Hall with handcrafted gifts, seasonal treats and festive goodwill.

Every September Long Weekend, Nordegg Days unites residents & visitors for a lively multi-day celebration of local traditions & mountain life with live music filling the air on Sunday. Attendees wander the Mountains & Mines Market stalls and admire classic cars at the Show & Shine—while guided heritage walks, children’s crafts and artisan workshops offer educational & playful experiences. Nordegg Days celebrates local culture, fosters community connections, and inspires exploration amid the Nordegg’s scenic vistas.

BLACK LUNG ULTRA

The town of Nordegg, Alberta, will once again welcome endurance athletes and outdoor enthusiasts to the second annual Black Lung Ultra—a rugged 62-kilometre, three-leg trail ultra marathon honouring the region’s coal-mining heritage. Inviting adventure-seekers, athletes traverse mountain ridges, collieries, and scenic foothills of the Rockies, experiencing Nordegg’s warm community spirit and storied history as they test their grit and endurance.

THANKSGIVING FEAST & FAMILY WEEKEND
October 11-13, 2025
On Canadian Thanksgiving Weekend, The Crossing Resort, nestled in a spectacular setting in the heart of the Canadian Rockies, invites families and friends to gather, share favourite memories and gratitude at a festive buffet feast featuring roast turkey and maple whisky glazed ham with all the traditional accompaniments; cranberry sauce, cabbage rolls, mashed potatoes, honey-glazed carrots, sweet potato casserole and a salad bar.
