Crescent Falls &

The Bighorn

Canyon

Crescent Falls & the Bighorn Canyon are among the region’s standout attractions, connecting visitors with nature’s raw elegance. The impressive Crescent Falls drop in two tiers along the Bighorn River, best experienced from newly constructed platforms that provide close-up, head-on views of the waterfalls and surrounding canyon walls.

Two marked trails allow visitors to explore the area on foot—one begins at the Canyon Lookout, following along the dramatic canyon edge leading to the falls, while the other is a recently developed access route starting from the main parking lot. Both trails offer short but rewarding walks to this powerful feature.

Caution is essential, especially in winter, as trail conditions can become hazardous and ice walks are only recommended along the creek bed leading to Isaac’s Icefall—a natural feature which draws experienced climbers during the cold months with its reliable ice and remote atmosphere.

Equestrian users will find a staging area nearby, offering access into premier pack country—ideal for those exploring deeper into The Bighorn on horseback.

Provincial campsites in the vicinity offer a rustic base for those looking to extend their stay and soak in the raw power of The Bighorn.
